Prerequisites:

Instructions:

  1. Navigate to Customer Creation:

    • In the left-hand pane of the portal, click on "Customers."

    • Select "Create a new customer."

  2. Enter Customer Details:

    • Fill in the required information for the new customer.

  3. Invite the Customer:

    • Once the customer profile is created, click "Invite customer."

    • Enter the designated secondary email address
      e.g. my.name+daasportal@mycompany.com* to send the sign-up invitation.

  4. Access the Customer Invitation:

    • An email containing the new customer sign-up link will be sent to the inbox of the secondary email address provided *

  5. Sign Up as the Customer (Important Considerations):

    • Use a Different Browser Profile: To avoid cookie-related issues, open the customer sign-up link in a different browser profile than the one used for your primary portal access. Alternatively, use an incognito/private browser window or a different browser altogether.

    • Copy and Paste Link: Copy the sign-up link from the invitation email and paste it into the address bar of the new browser profile/window.

    • Sign Up Method: When signing up as the customer, don't use the Microsoft option. Use Email account sign-up for your test customer account:

  6. Accept Terms and Conditions:

    • As the new customer, you will be prompted to sign the terms and conditions.

  7. Simultaneous Access (Optional):

    • You can now have both your primary administrative account and the newly created customer account open simultaneously in different browser profiles/windows.

    • This allows for real-time observation of how changes made in the administrative portal (e.g., adjusting margins in the catalogue) are presented and experienced from the customer's perspective.

* Note on Email Plus Aliasing: Many email systems support "plus aliasing." This feature allows you to add a plus sign (+) followed by any combination of letters or numbers before the @ symbol in your email address (e.g., yourname+test@example.com). Emails sent to this modified address will still be delivered to your regular inbox (yourname@example.com). This is useful for creating unique email addresses for different services or testing purposes without needing to create entirely new email accounts. The text after the + can often be used to filter or identify emails.
